Some History
Catlett Assembly of God came into being early in 1948, when a group began services in the Old Auburn Community Church, located five miles from Catlett, VA. There was a special business meeting in September of 1948 to set the church in order as an independent assembly. Moving day came in August of 1950 when the members relocated to the Ebbie Williams building in Catlett; however when this facility was sold, worship services had to be conducted in various homes. Eventually, services began in February of 1953 in an old schoolhouse until land was donated where the present church was constructed. The Church was then dedicated to the Glory of God in January of 1954. More than fifty years later, Catlett Assembly of God is still striving to reach and teach northern Virginia. There may have been some changes to the building over the years, but the vision to minister to the community is still the same. With programs available for all ages, Catlett A/G has become a strong family seeking to build the Kingdom of God.
